Job Materials Colloquium (for Doctoral students)

The Job Materials Colloquium is a virtual offering by the Student Success Center in collaboration with the Career Center, the Center for the Advancement of Teaching, and the Graduate      School where you will learn about the parts of the Cover Letter, CV, Teaching, Diversity, and Research Statement. You'll learn alongside a virtual community of other doctoral candidates in 2-hour sessions. Each week, we will have guest speakers from the Temple University community who are experts in their respective fields.

The Job Material Colloquium sessions will be held on Mondays (9-11 am) from October 7 to November 11. Each week, we will discuss a specific aspect of the job materials package, and then you will have a week to develop the document and upload it to Canvas. You will receive written and verbal peer-to-peer feedback on each piece you submit, ensuring you have the support you need to succeed.

To register, simply log into the schedule, select "Job Materials Colloquium" from the schedules drop-down menu at the top of the page, and then select the sessions you wish to attend. You will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link by the morning of the session. While participation is free, we ask that you honor your commitment to attend if you sign up. 

 

Research Paper Writing Colloquium (for Master’s students)

The Fall Research Paper Writing Colloquium focuses on learning about the components of the research paper and the expectations of this genre of writing at the graduate level. This colloquium is held virtually with a community of other master's students in 2-hour sessions.

The Fall Research Paper Writing Colloquium sessions is on Thursdays (4-6 pm) from October 3 to November 21. Each week, we will discuss a specific aspect of the research paper. You'll need to upload your document to Canvas or present it to the group. You will receive verbal peer-to-peer feedback on each piece you present and verbal and written feedback on each piece you submit.

To register, log into the schedule, select "Research Paper Colloquium" from the schedules drop-down menu at the top of the page. You'll receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link by the morning of the session. While participation is free, we ask that if you sign up, you honor your commitment to attend.
