Creative writing tables are informal, supportive gathering spaces for students to engage in creative writing at the Writing Center.
All students interested in writing creatively are welcome. Undergraduate and graduate students, from absolute beginners to experienced creative writers, may join us weekly or drop in as desired to spark new ideas for stories, comics, memoirs, song lyrics, scenes, and poems or simply to free write. Students are not required to be enrolled in creative writing courses to attend.

Spring 2023 Location & Time
All creative writing tables meet at the Student Success Center on the second floor of the Charles Library, room 230, on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
What to Expect at Creative Writing Tables
At each creative writing table, two or more writing tutors will introduce a creative writing skill or topic, offer a short writing prompt, and invite participants to write in response to it for a set amount of time. After writing, participants are invited to share their creative drafts in an informal, supportive atmosphere.
Because creative writing can include the personal as well as the social and political, we also have supplies for writing postcards and letters.
Curious? Join us any Friday at 11 a.m. through the end of April 2023, and bring a friend!
